There is provided the preparation for qualified specialists in the field of graphic of digital media within the whole processing the digital media in editorial, advertising, computer and graphic character. Students are working with the high professional graphic tools Adobe Creative Cloud during their study.

Graduate of the field Graphic Designer of Computer networks is qualified specialist with the adequate general education and he is able to work independently and he is also able to control specified manufacturing operation within the observance of safety regulations. He has the ability to work with graphic designs; he is notified of process techniques of graphic digital media, 2D and 3D graphic of digital media and he has the qualification for the creation of complex web pages. The presumption is to raise the level of qualification and to be prepare to apply for the university education. 

Graduate is suitable for the organisations that are concerned with digital media, reproduction, graphic and web design studies, advertising agencies, editorships, editors of periodic and organisations offering network communication service.

Secondary Technical School in Poprad

Secondary Technical School (SOŠT), Kukučínova Street in Poprad, certainly belongs to the oldest schools in this region and has been preparing specialists in the area of mechanical engineering and information technologies for over 50 years. The school has reached rating BB (quality institution with high professional level) in valuation of quality of pedagogical process that is distributed by International Education Society (IES) London.  The graduates of study fields have the opportunity to obtain a school-leaving examination certificate, skill certificate and certificates provided internationally:

 

IES London – certificate proving that graduate was educated in institutions of relevant rating

CISCO Systems USA – certificate for the field of Information Technology

CLOOS Schwesstechnik Haiger SRN certificate for welding in robotized workplace

 

SOŠT is equipped with modern computer techniques in 22 classrooms that serve for theoretical and practical teaching. All of them are connected to a high-speed internet with the option of wireless connection in a rest zone. PCs includes a high graphic software, f.e. Adobe Creative Suite 4, Cinema 4D, Cadkey, Surfcam. The school has its own canteen and dormitory. The open day for the students of 9th grade is held annually in autumn and all students with their parents are invited.

 

SOŠT realizes its activities in own premises:

- building of extracurricular activities with a school dormitory, guest-house, school canteen and lounge bar

- sports facilities – gym with a small fitness centre, multifunctional playground

Nowadays we are teaching 555 students in 21 classrooms (515 boys and 40 girls). Beyond the pedagogical-educational process, the school is also interested in manufactural activity in the field of machine industry; it provides accommodation and eating services, IT service and service of computer graphics.

 


 

The History of school:

The school belongs to the one of the oldest schools in the region with its orientation for preparation of worker´s professions. Profile of the mechanical focus has been formed under the supervision of mother company – TATRA Vagónka.

1948                The first reference about the teaching trainees in TATRA Vagónka

1957                Creating the training centre for trainees near the mother company

1964/65          Opening of 5-year study with school-leaving examination

1965                The first 6-weeks welding course for trainees

1976                The construction of gymnasium was completed

Graduates of the field Metal Worker is qualified specialist, he copes with activities connected to manual processing of metals and mainly with the work on machine tools – lathes, millers and drillers. He is able to define process of production, to specify, set up and sharpen tools. He is able to work simple and complicated components according to technical documentation and to control correctness of work-piece by measurement.

 

The preparation in the field of Metal Worker compiles the premises for service and setting of CNC machines after practice during the study. The profession is nowadays one of the most desired works and has guaranteed perspective.

Graduates of the field Machines Mechanic are qualified specialists who cope with activities connected to manual and mechanical processing of metals, mechanical wholes and its testing. He is able to execute maintenance works and repairs of complicated machines. He knows to choose an operation process, to execute a control and function of mounted parts of subgroups, groups and wholes. He has control over connecting materials by welding through a mercury arc that is covered by electrode and gas in shielding gas.
